ALOHA SNAPBACK & SAVE VANESSA TEE

Releasing exclusively in-store and online this Saturday, August 3, at 11am HST.

Aloha kākou!

With tomorrow's release we take some time to admire the great outdoors. More specifically we take a look at one of two species of butterfly native to Hawaii. That butterfly is the Vanessa Tameamea, or mostly known as the Kamehameha Butterfly, named after the royal house of Kamehameha. While diving deeper, the Hawaiian name for the Kamehameha Butterfly is pulelehua which while breaking down the inoa, pulelo "to float, wave, or rise" and lehua meaning "reddish" or "rainbow colored." Although the Kamehameha Butterfly can be found on majority of the Hawaiian Islands, decrease of sightings have been noticed due to decline of native forest habitat, necessary indigenous host plants, and widespread predation. With that in mind it's important for us to recognize, nurture, protect, and save our beloved native species.

Our Save Vanessa tee incorporates our Aloha Served Daily decorated with Kamehameha Butterflies. With this particular tee colorway we've decided to be a little different and added our own twist incorporating 116 yellow, a small homage connecting to Kamehameha I's ahu ula. The front pocket graphic is hit with our crest and the tee will be available in dark green.

Complimented with our Save Vanessa tee, for our lepidopterist thinking cap we will also be releasing our beloved Aloha snapback. With intentions of keeping it simple and classic, the overall cap and embellishments are all black except for a white New Era Flag and a white snap.
