Awapuhi Kuahiwi was introduced in the 19th century for its medicinal and nonmedicinal uses. Hawaiians found its properties useful for toothaches, sprains, inflammation, lei, hair, skin, flu, nausea, fever, and opu pain.
The Pink Maraca and its beautiful aesthetic color hues inspired this capsule. Some say it is one of the many kinolau of Kane and Samoa's national flower. For us, these bold flowers grew in our back yard creating many backdrops, family photos, hide and seek or tackle football! But this Black Friday, AWAPUHI kuahiwi will give us life.
2022 has been a challenging year for most individuals, families, and small business's as we re-emerged from the pandemic. Facing the world's challenges, dour approach this year is "E OLA KOA" LIVE "FEARLESS / ACCEPT, ADJUST CONQUER ." This year’s Black Friday capsule will consist of a special release Awapuhi Mua, along with 18 FITSTRIKE hats, 15 tees, and two tank tops. Most of the items will be released both in-store and online starting at 12am on Friday, November 25. In-store-only exceptions are the green Islanders tee and three dyed WTCF tees.
The Awapuhi Mua features a full 100% nylon micro-ripstop base in a bright pink which pulls directly from the awapuhi plant, and also features a white snap closure and black accents all around.
We can’t wait to celebrate and party with everyone in our typical Black Friday fashion, after the pandemic put a hold on festivities for a few years. We’ll have a variety of DJs providing the musical backdrop, while Asato Family Shop dishes out decadent scoops of Li Hing Starburst sherbert—a special flavor made especially for this event!
