PICKʻO MANGO KAMEHAMEHA
OHIA MUA
Aloha kākou!
Back in April we gave all of our customers an opportunity to design their own Kamehameha or Mua snapbacks, and we had the difficult task of picking the top two out of the many incredible submissions. Once we chose the winners, we put them into production under our FITSTRIKE program. So without further ado, we are proud to present Michah’s Pick’o Mango Kamehameha Snapback and Kaʻaina’s ʻŌhiʻa Mua Snapback! Along with each snapback, weʻre also releasing a black Who The Crown Fits tee with the print fill matching the theme of each hat. Please continue reading below for a short questionaire with each winner, along with their hat moʻolelo in their own words.

Designer: Micah Mckeague (@jazzelly)
Name: Pick’o Mango Kamehameha Snapback
Favorite Place In Hawaiʻi: Hanalei Bay
One Thing You Can’t Live Without: Ohana
Favorite FITTED Hat: J Boog & FITTED Collab
What Inspires You: What inspired me was at the the time, it was mango season and that was my favorite growing up as a kid! And who doesn’t love pickle mango?!!!
Pick’o Mango Kamehameha Moʻolelo: This one is called “Pickʻo Mango.” As a kid I could remember always eating this every mango season. Really if you never eat this as a kid, then you not from Hawaiʻi, “you know da kine.”

Designer: Kaʻaina Lacey-Nahale (@808_aina)
Name: ʻŌhiʻa Mua Snapback
Favorite Place in Hawaiʻi: Would have to be the Big Island, where I got my inspiration for the hat. I’m not from the BI but my wife is and when we moved there her family’s home is surrounded with the beautiful tree. When my wife told me the story of the ʻŌhiʻa Lehua I instantly loved the tree even more.
One Thing I Can’t Live Without: Sushi/Poke
Favorite FITTED Hat: It was the Shaka hat, it was my first FITTED Hawaiʻi Cap. Now it’ll be the ʻŌhiʻa Cap.
What Inspires You: My wife is my inspiration, especially when I’m not inspired she finds a way to inspire me. As she was the inspiration for this hat. She sometimes comes up with logo ideas, which I then put it down on paper.
ʻŌhiʻa Mua Moʻolelo: The Mua snapback features a light grey base which symbolizes an ʻōhiʻa tree bark. The Mua logo colored in red and green to represent the beautiful ʻōhiʻa blossom, with the NE flag and rear FITTED logo in yellow to represent the more rare blossom color. The undervisor, eyelets, top button and snap enclosure all in black to represent the lava rocks that the lehua tree is found growing upon. The ʻōhiʻa tree and its protection is important today due to the fungus that is killing our precious trees as well as its demise because of the beetles. Stop rapid ʻōhiʻa death and protect our ʻāina.
