The FASI TEE has been a FITTED staple pulling its name and inspiration from one of the more recognizable figures in Honolulu history: longtime Mayor Frank Fasi. Across two stretches in office, Fasi served as Honolulu mayor and his time at City Hall overlapped with changes that became permanent parts of everyday life on Oʻahu.
One of the most familiar is TheBus.
The City’s modern bus system began operating on March 1, 1971, under the Fasi administration. More than five decades later, TheBus remains one of those unmistakably local fixtures which is something generations have grown up catching to school, work, town, the beach and everywhere in between.
That history made the old-school transit imagery a natural backdrop for this release. The graphics, colors and familiar visual language of TheBus help place FASI back into the Honolulu that inspired it — not necessarily as a history lesson, but as another nod to the people, places and everyday details that make Hawaiʻi feel like Hawaiʻi.
For Tuesday, we bring the FASI TEE back in Black with its oversized white shaka and FITTED graphic across the back. This time around, we're offering it as well in a Women's Boyfriend Tee Body, giving the longtime graphic a new silhouette while keeping the original look intact.
