Aloha kākou!
There’s a certain glow you only notice late at night accompanied by the low hum of neon buzzing against quiet streets. Inside, behind thick glass and worn counters, sit objects that carry stories. These objects are not just items, but a symbol of moments traded, held, and passed through many hands before finding their way back home.
If you grew up here, you already know the kind of place we’re talking about. Not glamorous. Not polished. But real. A space where rings, watches, electronics, cameras, and old-school stereo equipment line the cases, and because we’re in Hawaiʻi, gold chains and ukuleles sit side by side. Where things aren’t just sold, but temporarily let go. Where life happens in between paydays. Where you do what you gotta do. And when the timing’s right, you come back for it.
We’re talking about "down there at the PAWN SHOP."
We’re bringing back a classic graphic tee first released in 2011 dubbed Gold & Ukuleles. The tees will be available in black and in our men’s short-sleeve tee and women’s oversized crop bodies. The design itself draws directly from neon signage by a local pawn shop. Keep it real over there. If you know, you know.
There are a lot of ways to read it. To us, gold represents value, history, security, something meant to last. Ukuleles represent culture, identity, time measured in music, stories carried through sound, something meant to be passed down. Sometimes life puts you in a position where those two worlds collide. Not because you want them to, but because survival demands it. And there’s no shame in that.
Completing the release is our Mua 59FIFTY constructed from a black lightweight nylon ripstop. The MUA embroidery, New Era flag, and our FITTED crest are finished and layered in shades of blue that pull from nightfall and ocean depth. These hues and tones you see after sunset, when the streets quiet down and the city exhales.
This release isn’t about glorifying struggle. It’s about acknowledging reality. The hustle. The pauses. The moments in between. Holding onto what matters, letting go when you have to, and finding your way back when you can.
