MUA
Aloha kākou!
Saturday’s FITSTRIKE release consists of a new Mua 59FIFTY and a brand new tee design. The Mua features a red base with yellow embroidery on the side and back, while the front embroidery features white and red-to-yellow gradient stitching. The new Gonzo tee is inspired by the late eclectic author, Hunter S. Thompson, who is most known for popularizing the unique style of journalism known as “gonzo journalism,” as well as being the author of “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.” This particular design is based on his book, “The Curse of Lono,” in which he describes his experiences in Hawaiʻi in 1980—one being a fishing trip where he catches a large marlin and beats it to death with a Samoan war club. Printed on either a black or white tee, the photo of Thompson with the marlin and club adorns the front. The logo on the back of the tee is inspired by the Gonzo Fist logo, the symbol of the entire gonzo journalism movement.
