Aloha kākou!
We have a new Kamehameha 59FIFTY releasing this Saturday alongside a brand new tee titled World Class. The Kamehameha 59FIFTY starts with a clean black base and adds a kelly green undervisor, white stitching on the front and back, and lime green stitching on the side.
The all-new World Class tee brings a vintage graphic aesthetic to a historical fighting tradition known as mokomoko. Check the moʻolelo by Ola below:
MOKOMOKO - “WORLD CLASS”
World Class Built in Hawaiʻi, tested on the world stage
From the middle of the Pacific, the most isolated land mass on earth, Hawaiʻi has always created something the world can’t ignore. Not oil, not gold but talent rich and focused athletes. Exports are rarer than diamonds.
Centuries ago with mokomoko, bare-knuckle matches were held to kick off Makahiki season. Fists weren’t just flying for sport, it was cultural protocol, pride, and proof of strength. In 1779 John Webber who was Cook’s on board artist sketched it like a spectacle. Documenting the world through the eyes of voyage.
Lineage runs deep in these islands from those days of (“discovery”) through to today’s NFL’s greats, MLB stars and mixed martial arts champions. Coming from one of the smallest talent pools on earth, the climb to the top is near impossible. And yet, time and again, Hawaiʻi shows up.
This tee is inspired by the mind set of against all odds, forged in the Pacific, fighters by blood, world class, to the top!
