With nearly every release, we see your comments on how quick items sell out. We see how upset and disappointed people are that releases are gone in seconds. We wanted to let you all know that your comments are not being ignored. For months now, we've been pro-actively battling "bots" which is basically a software with auto-checkout capabilities. People running bots can checkout in seconds which basically leaves people manually trying to checkout almost no chance. Often times these bots can make purchases for several people in seconds, wiping out the majority of our inventory. We're never going to catch them all, but now we have a good idea on who is using them and how they are using them.
We have always strived to make releases fair for everyone, in-store and online. We used to give the benefit of the doubt and allow them to keep one hat/order cause we couldn't prove they were using one for sure. Now we have a better idea with the help of a new Fraud Analysis tool that we've implemented. Another way to combat the bots is to simply make more hats, so we’ve increased our numbers to help supply the demand. Moving forward, we're going to cancel every order that our Fraud Analysis tool catches and we will find a fair way to resell them.
