Releasing at Kilo Summit beginning Thursday, August 20 with doors opening at 630pm HST.

Nothing Given, Nothing Gained.
Twenty years is not a straight line.
Water remembering its path, one it's taken consistently in variation, sometimes trickles, or at times clearing stillness making way for nutrients, or in a devastating purge is an incredible force to witness. The stream that has been cutting and carving the same stone for longer than human memory can recall is sometimes referred to as moʻo.
Twenty years. Say it fast and it lands like a trophy, but sit with it a while and it settles into something closer to a debt paid in full, not a finish line but a watermark, the mark left on stone by everything that already moved through.
Twenty years was never a straight line.
The moʻo never moved in a straight line either. Hakiʻopa, to amble, to wind, to take the way the land allows and refuse the way the map insists. And the moʻo is the moʻokūʻauhau too, the same root beneath both words, the line written body to body and name to name, Kiha among them, the one who wore a human life and stayed on afterward as guardian of the line. The path and the lineage were never two separate things. You are the ones who came before you, still moving.
No highlight reel here, because the true telling lives underneath. Hulihia, the overturning, when everything you built goes over at once and the world remakes itself from the wreck. Ola, the first signs of life after the chaos. Kulia, the standing and striving, to hold the ground you earned until the next overturning finds you, the way it always eventually does. Three turns of one wheel. Whatever order we carry now was forged inside the chaos.
Rare are the claps for the silent parts. The nights that ran into morning, like this one, sitting here at 2am banging out this post. The bets placed and paired with hard work that resulted in nothing. The unbalanced reciprocity keeping us tethered to haʻahaʻa, because to gain everything you hand something over first. Choke was giving to this game over the past twenty years, not knowing if any legacy will be worthy of passing along. We can only stand on the shoulders of our future and hope to have done enough in this rendition.
Nothing Given, Nothing Gained.
So we show up this week, not for a stage built for the already-arrived, but for a field where the established make room for the emerging and a brand puts another brand on and the whole ecosystem moves forward instead of turning on itself. Hoʻokahi ka ʻilau like ʻana, let's wield the paddles together. Every canoe on the water rises on the same swell, and we have sat on both sides of the hull, the ones reaching back and the ones reaching up, long enough to know which stroke keeps a people alive.
So come through and sit with us. Listen to our Origin Story: FITTED, Friday. Design as Identity, with Kealopiko and Sig Zane, Saturday. Not lectures, just the telling, said out loud, of how a thing becomes an identity you can wear.
ʻO ke kahua ma mua, ma hope ke kūkulu. The site first, and then the building. Appropriate techniques for kilo.
The path is never straight. Nothing given, nothing gained.
