ʻ Au i ke kai me he manu ala "To sail across the sea"
Part of our final offering for "Navigators of the Unknown" we are releasing a black and white long sleeve tee called Cross The Sea. Our ancestors were able to navigate by strict use of nature, a few being the sun, stars, and manu (bird.) The inspiration behind the design talks about using birds as an essential tool to navigate. The design represents the feathers of a bird, which is in the shape of the sun. There are eight directions or paths in which our ancestors could take to navigate the seas (north, south, east, west, northwest, north east, south west, south east). Coincidentally, there are also eight islands. In our design, The eight stars represent each of the Hawaiian islands. Manu, stars, sun, 8 directions: Cross the Sea.
