SHORE STRONG
In efforts to support young Shore Hong in her ongoing battle with Burkitt Lymphoma, we've donated two unreleased New Era 9FIFTY snapbacks to her online Instagram auction to help raise money for the medical costs and treatments this terrible cancer brings.
The first hat is a Mua featuring a black base, a bold pink and white logo on the front, and contrasting woodland camouflage on the undervisor. The back crest is stitched in pink while the side New Era logo is stitched in white to match the white snap enclosure.
The next hat is crafted out of full neoprene dipped in woodland camo, something we’ve never done before. This was made as a special collaboration with our friends at Paiʻea Projects, dubbed the ʻŌpelu Project snapback. The front of the hat features an illustration of an ʻōpelu, which is a mackerel scad—an ʻaumakua to some people—found in abundance in Miloliʻi on the Big Island, the most traditional native Hawaiian community in Hawaiʻi. It also features black metal eyelets, black embroidery on the sides, orange sweatband, white snap enclosure with crest tag, and the name Miloliʻi stitched on the back in orange.
To place a bid on either of these hats, simply go to @auctionforshore on Instagram, scroll down and leave a comment with your bid under the hat(s) you are interested in. Bids for the hats will be accepted from July 9 at 9am HST to July 10 at 11am HST (26 hours). They will comment to close bidding promptly at 11am. Please be sure to also check out all the other great items being auctioned off for this amazing cause. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Shore and her ohana! Stay strong. Shore Strong.
