Aloha kākou!
Back in Spring of this year we introduced the Waiʻaleʻale pattern, based on Mt. Waiʻaleʻale on the island of Kauaʻi, one of the wettest spots on earth. The idea that water surrounds us here in Hawaiʻi—from the waterfalls up in the mountains, to the inland rivers and streams, and down to the beaches all around us—gave way to the concept behind the design, and ultimately became the perfect catalyst for the collaboration between two local Hawaiʻi-grown companies and an activewear company with heavy ties to the surfing world.
This Saturday we continue with our Waiʻaleʻale Collection, teaming up with Blue Hawaii Surf and Vans to present one of the cornerstones of the entire capsule: the Waiʻaleʻale Era Pro. Featuring special materials not normally seen on shoes, we’re incredibly proud of this project and equally as excited to finally release it to the public.
Starting with the upper, this Era Pro features contrasted white stitching on fully sublimated nylon rip-stop, showcasing our Waiʻaleʻale pattern. The clear eyelets represent the crystal clear waters in Hawaiʻi, tying back to the Waiʻaleʻale concept. The Duracap Vulcanized midsole is all white, with the tonal Vans heel tag adding to the clean look. We hit the entire outsole with a bright orange color to add contrast to the colors up top. Moving to the inside of the shoe, we used a full spacer mesh lining for added comfort and breathability.
The FITTED + Blue Hawaii Surf + Vans Waiʻaleʻale Era Pro comes with three lace options (black, white, and our 116 yellow) and will be released this Saturday exclusively at FITTED (in-store and online) and at Blue Hawaii Surf.
