FITTED x ALOHA GOT SOUL: HAWAIIAN SALT (RELEASE)

Releasing Saturday, April 20th.Aloha kåkou! The time has finally arrived! We know, we know. It's been nearly two years since we originally announced our collaboration with Aloha Got Soul, run by part-time skater-in-slacks-and-dress-shoes and full time hardcore digger Roger Bong. The mix, titled Hawaiian Salt, was originally inspired by triple-OG-digger DJ Muro's mixed CD, Hawaiian Breaks, with each track hand selected by Roger. Clocking in at exactly 1:16:00 (get it?), the mix runs 27-tracks deep with selections that run the gamut from heavy funk to light jazz; all created by locals in Hawaiʻi. "Local Made, Local Played" is the motto. Our goal with this project is to 1: Educate those who may have never experienced or heard these amazing slabs...

KEEP IT FUNKY

Aloha.By now many of you know where most of our inspiration for designing comes from. We’re perpetually surrounded by these guiding lights of motivation, influence, artistry, vision and originality – yet we’re so absorbed in it day-to-day that we unconsciously do not acknowledge it. With this release, the ingenuity reaches from within our zealousness of music. This release’s attributes are pulled from the funk music collective the Parliament Funk Band which was governed by the great George Clinton. For those uneducated in the genre of “funk music,” the Parliament (P-Funk) were also known as The Funkadelics which featured the same members, but recorded for different record labels.
