First up, our Full Circle crewneck (gray) with Pacific Standard, 116 Honolulu, Hawaii, FITTED Aloha Served Daily Est 2004 printed in a circle that encompasses FITTED. Small crown hit on the back. Next up is our Kahekili tee (maroon) with orange graphic of Kahekili, the 13th King of Maui. At the time when Kahekili ruled Maui (along with Lanai & Molokai), his half brother ruled Kauaʻi, while Kamehameha controlled the Big Island. Fearing a takeover by the brothers, Kamehameha instead took his army to Maui, knowing that Kahekili had gone on to Oʻahu and left the island under the rule of his son. Releasing Saturday, Sept. 8thThe Bitter Water of BattleThe Paiʻea Projects x Fitted Kepaniwai Pack was inspired by one of the most-bitter battles recorded in Hawaiian History. It is said that this was the most pivotal assault for Kamehameha the Great while conquering Maui. In 1790, Kamehameha (aka Paiʻea) led a brutal campaign to take over the Valley Isle while its ruling Mōʻī (King), Kahekili, was conquering O’ahu. As a result, Maui was under the rule of Kahekili’s son, Kalanikūpule, and left vulnerable to invaders.
